Report:

The workshop began with the Inaugural Session on 19th October, 2020. During the inaugural session, Prof. M. N. Hoda, Director, Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi, welcomed all the guests & attendees and discussed the background note of conducting this workshop. He highlighted the significance of Education 4.0 to meet the emerging demands of Industry and emphasized on continuous learning which must go on regardless of all disruptions. Prof. Prerna Gaur, Chairperson, IEEE Delhi Section, addressed the audience and highlighted the activities of the IEEE Delhi Section. She also talked about various student chapters introduced under IEEE DS to promote the relationship between Academia and Industry.

Chief Guest of the inaugural session, Prof. A. K. Nayak, Immediate Past President, Computer Society of India, congratulated the organizing team for successfully conducting these programmes.  He discussed the highlights of the National Education Policy (NEP) – 2020 and related significance of “Digital Transformation in Higher Education. There were various interesting and knowledge imparting online sessions during the programme.

During the first week, there were 11 technical sessions of two hours each. These sessions were primarily focussed on capacity development of the young teachers related to various academic processes in early stages of the academic profession, pertaining to which there were sessions on The Attitude of Gratitude by Dr. Shankar Goenka, Research Methodology by Prof. D. K. Lobiyal, Simplifying IPR and Patent Filling by Mr. Awab Habib Fakih, The Art of Writing Research Proposals by Prof. D. K. Lobiyal, MOOC - The Next Generation Learning Platform by Prof. M. Kasim, Research in Digital Age - Problems and Opportunities by Mr. Dinesh Kumar Singh, Entrepreneurship and Startups by Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Citations and Reference Management using Mendeley by Dr. Ritika Wason, Human Values and Professional Ethics by Prof. Vibhakar Shrimali, Ethical Issues and Plagiarism in Research by Dr. Ritika Wason.

During the second week, there were 11 technical sessions of two hours each. These sessions were primarily focussed on capacity development of the participants on Moodle Open Source LMS with sufficient hands-on, pertaining to which there were sessions on  Moodle LMS by Mr. Uttam Singh Bisht, BVICAM, New Delhi, Google Classroom, Mrs. Tanya Pathak Garg, BVICAM, New Delhi, Sakai LMS by Dr. Sunil Pratap Singh, BVICAM, New Delhi.

Last day of the programme i.e. on 31st October, 2020, also witnessed a Valedictory Session. Dr. Ritika Wason, Associate Professor, BVICAM, presented a brief report on all the sessions covered during the two week programme. Prof. M. N. Hoda welcomed all the guests and thanked all the speakers & participants to make the programme a grand successful with positive outcomes. Chief Guest of the session, Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Chairman, National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi Former Founder Vice Chancellor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, congratulated and thanked all the participants for attending this workshop. He motivated all the attendees to develop a passion and make self-commitments to bring all round changes in the academic processes. He discussed that the teachers have to continuously upgrade their knowledge base to remain relevant in the rapidly changing technical ecosystem. At the end, few participants shared their experiences on attending this programme and gave their valuable feedback.

The Refresher Course was aimed to provide all the participants an opportunity to acquaint them with the new skills, methods, and processes required to improve their performance and learn about new developments in the field of academics. The course observed active participation from various research scholars and faculties with positive outcomes. During the course, as part of their continuous evaluation, the participants were given Assignments based on the sessions and they also underwent a series of quizzes based on MCQs. On the basis of their overall performance in these assignments and MCQs, they were ranked among A+, A and B+ categories.  The programme observed active participation of faculty members of various Universities from across the country.

The entire programme was coordinated by Dr. Ritika Wason, Associate Professor, BVICAM, New Delhi, Mr. Manish Kumar, Assistant Professor, Mr. Uttam Singh, Assistant Professor, BVICAM. All the participants were awarded with certificates of participation electronically. Dr. Ritika Wason expressed vote of thanks to all the attendees and guests for their active participation and professional bodies for their collaboration in this programme.
