Report:

The FDP began with the Inaugural Session on 6th July, 2020. Prof. M. N. Hoda, Director, Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi, welcomed all the guests & attendees, and discussed the background note on conducting this FDP on Industry 4.0. He addressed the changing ecosystem of Industry 4.0 which is pre-dominantly driven by ICT and ICT enabled technologies. It focuses on transformation of manufacturing and related industries in a connected environment of people, processes, services and IoT-enabled systems that radically change the way industry responds to the needs of society. He also discussed the need to make the entire teaching-learning process flexible enough to meet the expectations of students in the digital era. Prof. Prerna Gaur, Chairperson, IEEE Delhi Section, was the Guest of Honour and highlighted the activities of the IEEE Delhi Section. She also talked about various student chapters introduced under IEEE DS to promote the relationship between Academia and Industry. Chief Guest of the inaugural session, Prof. Amita Dev, Vice Chancellor, IGDTUW, Delhi addressed the session on “Changing Instructional Paradigm in the Ecosystem of Industry 4.0”. She discussed how paradigm shift has taken place in the Education system with major transformations in teaching-learning processes and the emergence of online education. She also briefed the changing instructional paradigm in Industry 4.0 that promotes increased automation of processes, self-monitoring, real-time data analytics and digitization of manufacturing. The session was also addressed by Prof. A. K. Saini, Vice President (President Elect) CSI and Prof. J. W. Bakal, President, IETE, New Delhi. The session was also attended by Mr. R. K. Vyas, President, CSI.

There were 10 interesting and knowledge imparting sessions covered during one week of FDP. Introduction to Data Science and Analytics by Ms. Ekta, Brain Mentors Pvt. Ltd. N. Delhi, Basics of Machine Learning using Python, Text & Image Analytics using Machine Learning, Object Detection using Machine Learning, Deep Learning with Python, all four sessions by Mr. Ravikant Tyagi, Brain Mentors Pvt. Ltd. N. Delhi, followed by Understanding IPR and Patent Filling by Mr. Awab Habib Fakih, AIKTC, Mumbai, Blockchain and Industry 4.0 by Dr. Mayank Agrawal, G. K. V. Haridwar, Emerging Technologies for Business in Industry 4.0 by Mr. Rishabh Anand, HCL, Noida, MOODLE Open Source LMS and Mind Maps by Mrs. Tanya Pathak Garg & Mr. Uttam Singh Bist, BVICAM, N. Delhi and Role of Academia in Industry 4.0 by Dr. Mani Madhukar, IBM, Noida. An invited session on the last day of the FDP on “Smart Technical writing through Mendeley” was taken by Dr. Ritika Wason, Associate Professor, BVICAM.

The FDP was aimed to provide all participants with a better understanding of emerging technologies for education and areas of research in Industry 4.0. During the FDP, the participants were given Assignments based on the sessions and they also underwent a quiz based on MCQs. On the basis of their performance in these assignments and MCQs they were ranked among A+, A and B categories.  The FDP observed active participation from 79 participants as research scholars and faculties from different states of the nation and Saudi Arabia, including participants from Graphics Era Hill University, Dehradun, Mody University of Science & Technology, Laxmangarh, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, Sri Sarda College for Women, Salem, University of Delhi, IGDTUW, Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi, Christ University, Bangalore, Central University of Odisha, Koraput, North Orissa University, Baripada, Gujrat University, Ahmedabad, to name a few.

Last day of the FDP witnessed Valedictory Session. Prof. M. N. Hoda welcomed all the guests and thanked all the speakers & participants to make this FDP a successful program with positive outcomes. Chief Guest of the event, Dr. Udhav V. Bhosle, Vice Chancellor, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded (Maharashtra), congratulated the entire organizing team of FDP for conducting different sessions on emerging areas of education and research on virtual platform. The session was presided over by Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Noted Academician, Chairman, NBA, New Delhi and Former Founder Vice Chancellor, GGSIP University, New Delhi. He acknowledged the need to format the Education System in order to cope up with the challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic and the emerging need to introduce latest technologies in the education system to meet the demands of Industry 4.0. The session was also addressed by Prof. Subramanian Krishnamurthy, Immediate Past Chairperson, IEEE Delhi Section.

 At the end, few participants shared their experiences on attending FDP and gave their valuable feedback. The entire FDP was coordinated by Dr. Vishal Jain, Associate Professor, Mr. Manish Kumar, Assistant Professor, Mr. Uttam Singh, Assistant Professor, BVICAM and Dr. Ritika Wason, Associate Professor, BVICAM. All the participants were awarded with certificates of participation electronically. Dr. Vishal Jain expressed his vote of thanks to all the attendees for their active participation and professional bodies for their collaboration in this online FDP.
