The 13th edition of INDIACom i.e. INDIACom - 2019, 6th International Conference on “Computing for Sustainable Global Development” was hosted by Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi during 13th – 15th  March, 2019. The event was technically sponsored by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Delhi Section and was supported by Computer Society of India (CSI) Delhi Chapter, Institutions of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Delhi Centre, Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Delhi Section, Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Delhi State Networks, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s CSI Students’ Branch New Delhi, GGSIPU New Delhi, All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) India, SERB - Department of Science & Technology Ministry of Science & Technology – Govt. of India and Shri JagadishPrasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.

The event started with an exhilarating inauguration on the evening of 13th March 2019. Prof. M. N. Hoda, Director, BVICAM, New Delhi & General Chair, INDIACom-2019 welcomed all the dignitaries on the dice and audience. In his welcome address he briefed the audience about the history of past 12 editions of INDIACom, since its inception in the year 2007 and presented a brief report of INDIACom - 2019.  He shared statistics of the conference where around 2167 papers were considered during technical review, out of which only 375 papers were accepted for publication in IEEExplore. Continuing with his words, he discussed the objective of organizing INDIACom every year, which provides a platform to academicians, scientists, researchers, industrialists and experts from different domains to explore new horizons of innovative technologies and promote scientific progress aimed to accelerate India’s overall growth to prominence on the International front.

Prof. Prerna Gaur, Executive Vice Chairperson, IEEE Delhi Section, graced the occasion. She appreciated INDIACom for collaborate many technical societies to promote research in the country. She threw light on various IEEE societies and chapters, which comprised of altogether four lakh members world-wide with 10 regions and 11 sections. Prof. A. K. Nayak, President (Elect), CSI, also graced the occasion and discussed with the audience about the different technologies along with other computing and intelligence paradigms such as AI, BI, CI and EI. He shared his ideas on industrial revolutions and how sustainable computing applications can turn around the fate of the country at a much faster pace. Dr. George Tsaramirsis, King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia interacted with the audience and shared his expert views on the growth, development and advancements that the world is currently witnessing through the power and capabilities of innovative technologies like AI, deep learning and machine learning. Dr. Yasser Ades, Greenwhich University, London shared his knowledgeable comments on Computer Science Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering. In his enlightening talk, he discussed the development of number crunching applications to present day large scale computing and how telecommunication industry has witnessed tremendous growth in past decade. Dr. Junichiro Mori, University Of Tokyo, Japan – congratulated organizers of INDIACom and shared his purpose of attending this conference. Sustainable Development is an important issue in Japan where a faculty base of over 1000 in the field of Sustainability Sciences are prominently working to find aid to the social problems of the country such as ageing population and rural development.

Prof. Mohammad Yamin, The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia was the Guest of Honor. He was also the convener of the 5th International workshop on Information Engineering and Management (IWIEM 2019) based on the theme “Business and Health Informatics”, organized by him along with the INDIACom-2019, under Track # 05, having participants and authors from different countries. During his keynote address, he shared his valuable ideas on sustainability of a kind with computing. He also emphasized on the value of label and authenticity of research and publications.

The Inaugural Session was presided over by Prof. K. K. Agarwal, Noted Academician and Founder Vice Chancellor, GGSIP University, New Delhi, Past President, Fellow and Life Time Achievement Awardee of CSI, expressed his appreciation to see the event growing immensely over the years. He shared his views on how the educational paradigm has been changed over years and how the education system should be open to accept students’ alternatives of solutions to encourage logical thinking and nurturing innovations & creativity. Today a student must have T type of knowledge base which represents in-depth knowledge in one domain and desired skills on other domains. He expressed his thoughts on how computing is changing our lives and we have to run very fast to remain sustainable.

Among other dignitaries present on the gracious occasion were Dr. A. M. Basahel from King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Mr. A. M. Saleh from GASSIM, Saudi Arabia (KSA), Mr. M. Almutairi from GASSIM, Saudi Arabia (KSA), Prof. Subrata Mukhopadhayay, Chair, IEEE Standing Committee on Tech. & Professional Activity Dr. N. K. Gupta, Chairman, Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). Dr. Nitin Malik, Joint Registrar, GGSIPU, Mr. R. K. Vyas, National Hony. Treasurer, CSI and Prof. A. K. Saini, Professor, GGSIP University, New Delhi. All appreciated the huge success of the event. The amount and quality of shared ideas and life stories kept the audience hooked and inspired at the same time.

After the enlightening talks, proceedings of INDIACom-2019 were released by all the dignitaries, followed up by the release of the 26th issue i.e. Volume 11 Number 2 of BVICAM’s International Journal of Information Technology (IJIT). IJIT is now published by Springer (The world’s largest publisher of scientific documents) w.e.f. Volume 09-Issue 01 from January, 2017 under ISSN: 2511- 2104 (Print Version); ISSN: 2511-2112 (Electronic Version), which is now available online at http://link.springer.com/journal/41870. Volume 11 Number 02 presents a compilation of twenty papers, chosen out of over 400 manuscripts, that span a broad variety of topics from various emerging areas of Information Technology and Computer Science, especially addressing current research problems related to Crowd Management, Image Compression, E-Services, Spam and Intrusion Detection, Cloud Load Prediction, Churn Prediction and Soft Computing to name a few. All delegates in attendance were felicitated with mementos and shawls.  Faculty Awards were presented to the faculties of BVICAM family in various categories. Best Faculty Awards were presented to Dr. Vishal Jain and Dr. Ritika Wason for the year 2017 and 2018 respectively. Awards for completion of Ph.D were presented to Dr. Nitish Pathak and Dr. Imran Khan. Awards for Best Research Paper Publication were presented to Dr. Anupam Baliyan, Dr. Vishal Jain, Dr. Imran Khan, Dr. Ritika Wason, Dr. Nitish Pathak, Dr. Sunil Pratap Singh, Mr. Manish and Mr. Uttam Singh Bisht for having their research papers published in SCI, ESCI and Scopus indexed journals. Research Paper Citation award was given to Dr. Vishal Jain for having more than 200 citations in past two consecutive years. At last all the faculties and non-teaching members of BVICAM were given the honors for their untiring efforts to make this event successful.

INDIACom 2019 - the 13th edition of this annual conference, attracted over 2500 papers, by 5000 authors across the globe. Based upon an initial scrutiny, 2167 papers were found worth consideration for technical review.  After a series of tough review exercises, by a team of over 700 experts, 375 papers, authored by over 800 authors from different parts of the country and abroad, were recommended to be accepted for presentation in INDIACom – 2019 during the three days under different parallel tracks. These papers will be published in soft copy of proceedings having ISSN 0973-7529 and ISBN 978-93-80544-32-8. These papers shall be published at IEEEXplore, the world’s largest repository, indexed with world’s leading Abstracting & Indexing (A&I) databases, including Web of Science, SCOPUS, DBLP, INSPEC, etc. Out of these 800 papers, a chosen set of 53 papers were further recommended, by the Editorial Board, for publication in the hard copy of the Pre-Conference Proceedings with ISSN 0973-7529 and ISBN 978-93-80544-33-5 serials. These papers represent wide variety of research topics in all the emerging areas besides traditional and core computational areas. Some of the application oriented papers may not be very rich in technical content, but provide extensive information about the new areas where computing can really be useful for the overall prosperity of the mankind, which in turn might facilitate the overall growth in the country.

Paper presentations were held on 14th and 15th March 2019 under four parallel tracks. Track # 1 had paper presentations on Sustainable Computing; Track # 2 was based on High Performance Computing; Track # 3 had presentations on High Speed Networking and Information Security; Track # 4 was based on Software Engineering and Emerging Technologies; and lastly Track # 5 was based on paper presentations and 5th International workshop on Information Engineering and Management (IWIEM 2019). Paper presentations, key note addresses, invited talks showcased the solid research base built by the experts and participants. The skill with which the event was executed, welcomed positive feedback from all visiting dignitaries.
