Two Weeks FDP - Emerging Research Trends in CS & IT

Two Weeks Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was organized on "Emerging Research Trends in Computer Science & IT", by Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi in association with IEEE Computer Society (Delhi Section) & IIPC (AICTE) of BVICAM, IEEE Computer Society (Delhi Section), CSI Delhi Chapter, ISTE  Delhi Section, from 15th May to 27th May, 2017.  The objective of this FDP was to foster the level of technical teaching and research aptitude of the young faculty members, either doing research or planning to undertake research work under the domain of Computer Science and IT, including M. Tech. Scholars.

The two weeks FDP programme was conducted in 20 interesting and knowledge imparting sessions touching broad segments of Computer Science and Information technology. FDP covered various domains with different technical sessions on Wireless Sensor Networks using NS3 by Dr. Anand Nayyar – KCLITM, Jalandhar, Machine Learning using R Tool and Art of Writing Quality Research Papers, Technical Proposals, Ph.D Synopsis using Latex by  Dr. P.S. Rana, Thapar University, Patiala, Fuzzy based MCDM Techniques by Dr. Rekha Gupta – LBSIM, New Delhi, SPSS by Dr. Nimit Gupta – NIIB, New Delhi, Natural Language Processing by Mr. Dheeraj – Aricent Technologies, Gurgaon , Ad-hoc Networks using FANET by Dr. Umang Singh – ITS, Ghaziabad, Hands-on on Ad-hoc Networks by Mr. Manish Kumar, BVICAM, Agile Methodologies by Ms. Gunjan Srivastava – Aricent Technologhies, Gurgaon , Wearable Computing, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things & Smart Cities by Mr. Anil Pathak – Human Connected Services, Gurgaon, Xamarian Studio for iOS development by Mr. Gaurav Arora and Mr. Manish Kanwar – Innatus Curo Software, Noida,  Hadoop Administartion by Mr. Gurkhivi – Datreon , Ghaziabad, Hands-on session on Distributed Computing and Resource Allocation in Distributed Environment by Dr. Abhishek Swaroop – Galgotia University, G. Noida, Reference Management Tool – Mendeley by Dr. Ritika Wason – BVICAM, How to transform Traditional Courseware to Outcome based Format by Dr. P. S. Grover – University of Delhi, ICTP: Innovative and corporate approach for Training and placement by Mr. Rajeev jain, corporate Trainer, Gurgaon, 21st  Century Teaching Learning by Prof. M.N. Hoda, Director, BVICAM, New Delhi.

All the participants attended this FDP enthusiastically with a vision to learn the use of technologies in their research work and also to apply them in their teaching process. Some technical sessions such as the session on Machine Learning, Fuzzy Techniques and Networks were completely research oriented and the participants were given hands-on training on the use of algorithms by using datasets. Other sessions on technical writing and reference management gave the exposure of how to write effective research papers to get them publish in reputed journals and how to organize the content and references in Ph.D thesis or in any other technical report. Some sessions were dedicated to the use of new technologies in project development such as iOS app development, Agile methodologies etc.       

The programme was well attended by over 40 participants from premier Institutes like Galgotia University, G. Noida, Maharaja Agarsen Institute of Technology, New Delhi, Bharti Vidyapeeth's College Of Engineering, New Delhi, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Bhagwan Pashuram Institute of Technology, Delhi, C.B.P. Govt. Engg. College, Jaffarpur, GNA University, Phagwara, Punjab, Guru Kashi University, Punjab Islamia College, Sri Nagar, Jagan Institute of Management Studies, New Delhi, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, JIMS, New Delhi, Loyala College, Chennai, OPJS University, Churu etc. Last day of the FDP witnessed Certificate Distribution Ceremony. Dr. Vishal Jain, Asstt. Professor, Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi, co-ordinated the entire FDP program with full zeal and enthusiasm. He expressed his vote of thanks to all the attendees promising to meet again with a bunch of new topics.
