A yet another impeccable execution of the annual grand event ‘8th INDIACom’- 2014 International Conference on “Computing for Sustainable Global Development” was stupendously hosted by  BVICAM. The event  was executed in association with well-know organizations like Computer Science Society of India Delhi Chapter, IET, IETE Delhi Center, ISTE and Computer Society of IEEE, Delhi to name a few.

The event started with an exhilarating inauguration on the evening of 5th of March, 2014 made worth by the benign presence of  Prof. B.N. Mishra, Chairman, Board of Governors, Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, New Delhi welcomed by Prof. M.N. Hoda, Director BVICAM & Chief Convener INDIACom-2014 welcomed the audience and all dignitaries by introducing them about IndiaCom and when and how it came into being such a grand event. Dr. Anurag Mishra, Conference Chair also welcomed the guests and also thanked Prof. Madan Gupta for his presentation that he sent as he could not grace the occasion because of unavoidable reasons. Shri R.K.Vyas, Regional Vice President (Region-1), CSI, acknowledged the presence of all the dignitaries and talked about how communication and ICT have changed the face of the world. Also the guest of honour being, Mr. Alok Vijayant, Director, Cyber Security Operations, NTRO, Office of NSA(PMO), Govt. of India, threw some light on the development of cyber culture in the country, in addition to sharing some anecdotes from the initial stage of his career. Also present on the dais was Mr.Rajat M. Nag, Former Managing Director General Asian Development Bank, Manila, Philippines, who talked about the need for sustainable development as a whole. The amount and quality of shared ideas and life stories kept the audience hooked and inspired at the same time. The proceedings for INDIACom 2014 saw the grand inaugural by the dignitaries, with it being the first time that the E-format of the proceedings was also launched.

 After the enlightening talk, all delegates in attendance were felicitated with mementos, the third year students were felicitated with awards for their brilliant academic as well as extra curricular involvement at BVICAM, which followed towards the commencement of the cultural night. With a hilarious dumb dance, an eye-catching fashion walk and a few other performances, BVICAM students had proved that they had a lot more to showcase & their toil to make the evening a success had reached its goal.

The grandeur and scale of the event was felt throughout the next two days, 6th and 7th of March, 2014 which saw the pouring in of the brightest minds, which included faculties and research students coming not only from within the national borders but on an international scale too, esteemed authors from world renowned organizations with their qualitatively sound research outputs made the event valuable and worth the wait. Paper presentations, key note addresses, invited talks & panel discussion showcased the solid research base built by the invited research scholars.

The Panel discussion on the evening of 6th of March was presided over by dignitaries from varied fields. The guest of honour was Dr. P.S. Grover from University of Delhi, Mr. Muktesh Chander, IPS Joint Commissioner of Police, Delhi. Mr V.K. Gupta, Vice Chairman, IET and Dr. Murli Mohan, Department of Science andTechnology, Govt. of India. The session was concluded by an interactive question answer round by the students of first and second year.

The 7th of March went through paper presentations from noted authors while a few from across border also presided over. The skill with which the event was executed, welcomed positive feedback from all visiting dignitaries. At the end of INDIACom, the certificates were distributed by Prof M.N. Hoda to all the students for their excellent efforts in managing the event smoothly and making it a memorable experience for those attending.The management became all the more a cake-walk with the spirit of co-ordination infused in the volunteering students by the respected BVICAM faculty.
