FDP on Emerging Research Trends

Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi, jointly with IEEE Computer Soceity & IIPC, AICTE organized one Week Faculty Development Program on “Emerging Research Trends in Computer Science and IT” from 25th July, 2016 to 30th July, 2016 in collaboration with Computer Society of India (CSI), Division – I and Region – I. The purpose of the FDP was to strengthen and improve the quality of education and level of technical teaching-learning process.

Experts from different areas delivered their lectures on recent research trends, patentability, entrepreneurship etc. Prof. P. S. Grover, Campus Director, KIIT, presented his contents on “Fostering Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurial culture via outcome based teaching”. Dr. D. K. Lobiyal, Associate Prof, JNU, discussed how to write good research papers and get them publish in high indexed journals. Dr. Prashant Rana, Assistant Professor, Thapar University, Patiala, gave hands-on exposure on Machine Learning using R tool. Prof. R. K. Agarwal, Professor, JNU discussed Neural Networks and SVM as recent research trends. On the last of the FDP, Mr. Neeraj Tayal, Assistant Controller & Design discussed how to take patent and copyright on your research work. All the sessions benefitted participants in one or some other way.

The program ended with a very knowledge sharing Panel Discussion Session by the Panelist from both Industry and Academia.

Research Scholars and Faculties of different institutions across the nation attended the FDP. The participants were awarded with the certificate of participation. Dr. Vishal Jain, Assistant professor, BVICAM coordinated the entire FDP. Prof. M. N. Hoda, Director, BVICAM, New Delhi congratulated and thanked all participants who attended the entire FDP program.
